The Governor’s vision for health reform is an accessible, efficient, and affordable health care system that promotes a healthier California through prevention and wellness and universality of coverage. Healthy Families Buy-In

The Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board (MRMIB) is working on an option for counties that wish to insure children who are living under 300% FPL and who do not currently qualify for Healthy Families or Medi-Cal. Counties would be able to purchase the Healthy Families insurance product from MRMIB for their eligible children. The funding would come from the county Children’s Health Initiatives not from the State. MRMIB expects to launch the Buy-in program in January of 2007.
